A young truck driver killed in a horror crash on the South Coast is being remembered as “hardworking” and “selfless”, as the community rallies to support his grieving family.

Indian national Tarjeet Singh was just 30-years-old when his life was taken in a single-vehicle crash on the Snowy Mountains Hwy, Bemboka, early Friday morning.

Emergency services arrived at the scene about 4am, performing CPR on Singh who was driving a truck for work when the crash occurred.

Despite best efforts, he died at the scene.

Family and friends are now mourning the untimely loss, with family member Sher Singh remembering Tarjeet as someone who “left an impact wherever he went”.

“He was humble, down-to-earth, and always willing to lend a helping hand,” he said.

“He believed in hard work, family values, and the importance of standing by his people.”

Mr Singh said Tarjeet’s parents were devastated by the sudden loss.

“Their world has turned upside down in a matter of moments,” he said.

“The son they raised with love is no longer with them.

“The pain is unimaginable.”

To support Tarjeet’s grief-stricken parents, Mr Singh has now launched a GoFundMe to help send his friend’s body back to India.

“Every single dollar counts,” Mr Singh said.

In just days, more than $34,000 has been raised for Tarjeet’s family.

Mr Singh said the raised funds would also be used to assist the young man’s grieving family in any way needed during their difficult time.

“Your support, whether big or small, will help ease the burden on his grieving family,” he said.

NSW Police said investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash were ongoing.
