Tens of thousands of eager punters and partygoers have streamed through the gates of Royal Randwick Racecourse for the $30 million TAB Everest.
The Saturday Telegraph confirmed the richest race on turf has seen a sold-out crowd of more than 40,000 racing fans turn out for the occasion, as Destination NSW chair Sally Loane revealed she will look to supercharge infrastructure to support more than 50,000 people expected for the 2025 race.
Food lovers are expected to devour more than 14,000 plates of food at The Everest today, from 900kg of smoked brisket prepared to more than 10,000 cocktail pies served through the crowds.
