Sydney commuters are facing peak hour disruptions on the T9 Northern Line on Monday morning due to urgent signal repairs at Central Station, with reduced services and cancelled express trains causing delays across the network.
Sydney Trains announced the disruption just before 7am, advising that trains on the T9 line would run at a reduced frequency for the remainder of the day while repair works continue.
Between 6.50am and 8.25am, a temporary shuttle train service is operating between Hornsby and Epping, stopping at all stations.
The T9 takes in Sydney’s north shore, with the line running from Hornsby to North Sydney.
Passengers travelling toward the city are being told to swap at Epping to continue their journey.
Additionally, express trains from Central to Epping have been cancelled between 7:45am and 9.15am.
“Consider using metro services between Epping and the City,” Sydney Trains posted on X.
It comes as an urgent signal fault at Wollstonecraft is causing delays and changes to stopping patterns on the T1 North Shore Line, with Sydney Trains urging commuters to allow extra time and remain alert for updates.
“Stops may change at short notice,” Sydney Trains warned on social media just after 8am. “Consider using Metro services between Chatswood and Central.”
Commuters are being advised to allow extra travel time and check real-time updates via the Sydney Trains app or website.
