Controversial rapper and hood storyteller Spanian has been dropped by his hip-hop collective after posting a spate of rants linking paedophiles to the gay pride movement.

In a video posted to Instagram the Sydney rapper claimed paedophiles hide behind LGBTQIA+ events and use them to their advantage. The videos were deleted from his account on Tuesday afternoon.

“I’m f***ing sick of this f***ing perverted, putrid s***, like a bunch of deadset paedophiles hiding behind some f***ing gay pride,” Spanian said in his Instagram video.

“How far is this until youse are showing d**ks in the streets now?

“We’re not even men, we’re not women. We’re f***ing this, we’re that, we’re a hundred different things. Forcing it upon us. We say nothing. Everyone’s too scared to f***ing say something. Then it’s forcing it upon our kids.”

Spanian’s official Instagram page was bombarded with criticism after posting his videos.

“This isn’t it,” one commenter said.

Another said Spanian’s comments were “misinformed and hateful.”

“Jeez, mate. You’re protesting a bit too much. If there’s ever anything you want to talk about, or if you need a shoulder to cry on, I’m here for you, bro,” award-winning journalist Steve Pennells commented.

Several other users, including Ex-NBA star Andrew Bogut and former professional surfer Koby Abberton also backed the rapper.

Bogut‘s support was shown with a number of raising hands emojis with the hashtag “standup.”

Spanian’s collective OneDay were quick to act following the posts, swiftly dropping him from the collective in a statement.

“We strongly condemn Spanian conflating issues around child-grooming and paedophilia in connection to the LGBTQIA+ community during WorldPride in a recent Instagram video,” the statement read.

“This is very problematic - we understand that this language has a long history of being used to discredit and vilify the LGBTQIA+ community.”

Hachette Australia Books, publishers of Spanian’s autobiography, also announced that they’ll be cutting ties with the infamous rapper.

“We strongly condemn the recent Instagram posts shared by Spanian, which vilify the LGBTQI+ community. We will not tolerate actions and speech that incite hatred under any circumstances,” the Instagram statement read.

“Our only book with the author was published in 2021, and we will not publish further books with him.”

Spanian grew up in the original era of the ‘eshay’ on the streets of Woolloomooloo in the 1990s.

He built a successful brand on YouTube sharing stories of his troubled past and insights into life behind the bars - one in which he spent almost a third of his existence.

After leaving jail most recently in 2017, Spanian has stayed out of trouble turning to rap and storytelling in raw and unfiltered content.

Spanian later returned to his official Instagram page after his axing to double down on his opinion.

“Heaps of people were really offended by what I said the other day,” he said.

”I guess what I want to say is I am sorry … for absolutely nothing, you f***ing putrid peasants.”
