Sydney Trains are advising people to allow for extra travel time after a person was seen near the train tracks earlier on Tuesday afternoon.
The trains reportedly came to a screeching halt after the person was seen near the tracks, just after 3pm on Tuesday.
Several train lines are now experiencing delays due to the incident, including T1, T2, T3, T8, T9.
Sydney Trains also warned that stops may change at short notice, so commuters are advised to listen to announcements and check information screens or transport apps before getting on a train.
In a video sent to The Daily Telegraph, a train guard was heard telling passengers on a Parramatta-bound service that the person was on the “wrong side of the Cleveland Street bridge” between Redfern and Central stations.
The guard said the overhead power had been cut off and police were on site. NSW Police did not provide comment when approached by The Daily Telegraph.
It appears trains were impacted in both directions out of Redfern.
While Sydney Trains are still advising people allow for extra time, and a few trains have been delayed or cancelled, it appears most trains are now running on time.
