A man and a woman have been hospitalised after they were struck by a ute while walking with a toddler in Sydney’s southwest on Tuesday night.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Canterbury and Burwood roads in Belmore at about 8.20pm on Tuesday, following reports of a crash involving pedestrians.
Officers from Campsie Police Area Command arrived to find three pedestrians — a 28-year-old man, a 24-year-old woman, and a two-year-old girl — had been hit by a Ford ute.
Paramedics treated the man and woman at the scene before transporting them to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where they remain in a stable condition.
The two-year-old child was not injured in the incident.
The driver of the ute, a 31-year-old man, underwent a roadside breath test which returned a negative result.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, and inquiries are continuing.
