A learner driver has been caught behind the wheel of a Lamborghini without a supervisor in Sydney’s southwest.
Officers from Bankstown Highway Patrol were patrolling Canterbury Road in Roselands shortly before 2am on Sunday when they spotted the high-powered Lamborghini Huracan speeding past.
The $500,000 supercar was pulled over for inspection, and officers were stunned when the driver produced a learner licence.
They discovered the driver was completely alone in the car, with no fully licensed supervisor in the passenger seat—as required by law for all L-plate drivers.
When asked where their supervisor was, the driver reportedly told police, “He’s supervising me from the car behind.”
Further inquiries revealed the Lamborghini was a rental, and there was no sign of any supervising driver nearby.
Police issued the driver with a fine totalling close to $2,000, along with six demerit points and an immediate licence suspension for driving unaccompanied.
