A townhouse in Sydney’s southwest has been destroyed after a fierce fire ripped through the property on Monday morning.
Emergency services rushed to Richmond Crescent in Campbelltown shortly before 7am following triple-zero calls reporting a townhouse fully alight.
When firefighters arrived, they were confronted with an intense wall of fire tearing through the top level of the home and spreading rapidly to adjacent properties in the complex.
Explosions were heard from inside the burning townhouse as flames spread through the roof, sending thick smoke billowing over the neighbourhood.
Firefighters launched an attack on the blaze from multiple directions, battling conditions in an urgent effort to stop the inferno from hitting nearby buildings.
Crews remain on the scene, with multiple fire trucks and personnel working to bring the situation under control.
No injuries have yet been reported, and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
