A driver has died and three passengers sustained injuries when their SUV crashed into a tree north of Taree on Monday.
Emergency services responded to the incident on Lansdowne Rd, Cundletown, around 9.30pm and found the black Jeep with four people trapped inside.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while two men and a woman were extricated from the vehicle and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
Two of the passengers were transported to Port Macquarie Hospital, and the third was taken to Taree Base Hospital.
The passengers are being treated for various injuries, including fractures, but none are believed to be life-threatening.
Inquiries into the crash are ongoing, and authorities have closed Lansdowne Road for several hours.
