A man in the nation’s capital has faced court after he entered a hotel before stripping off in public.
The 39-year-old O’Connor man has been charged with multiple offences following an alleged incident on Thursday evening.
ACT Police alleged just after 5pm, a man entered the foyer of The Crowne Plaza hotel before allegedly dropping his pants and underwear.
He then attempted to interact with people in the venue before being escorted out of the lobby.
Soon after, police allege he entered the carpark before intimidating members of the public.
The man allegedly removed the rest of his clothes before aggressively engaging with people and vehicles.
Police further allege he left the car park — while naked — before abusing a member of the public as he walked towards the Meriton Suites on Allara St.
Police attended and spoke to multiple witnesses.
An hour later at 6.35pm, ACT Police officers observing a protest at the National Convention Centre noticed a man attempting to enter the rear of a marked police car.
He was taken into custody – with police later confirming he was the man sought in relation to the earlier exposure incidents.
He was charged with two counts of indecent exposure, two counts of offensive behaviour in public, two counts of common assault, affray, property damage and breaching a good behaviour order
The man will appear in the ACT Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
