Boorana Ahmed pleads guilty after threatening passengers with gel blaster at Auburn

A young man has admitted to threatening two train passengers with a firearm in the middle of the afternoon, along with a raft of other offences.

A man has admitted to threatening two passengers with a gel blaster at Auburn train station.

Auburn police attended the station on Sunday about 3.30pm following reports Boorana Ahmed, 22, threatened two train passengers with a gel blaster.

They arrested him at the station where they found he had a gel blaster-style pistol on him.

Ahmed was taken to Auburn police station where he was charged with common assault, two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear, physical harm, possessing an unauthorised pistol in a public place and acquiring a pistol – subject to firearms prohibition order.

He was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to all the charges.

He was subsequently refused bail and is due to be sentenced on June 16.

Burwood Community Corrections District Office has requested a sentencing assessment report.
