A number of women in Sydney’s eastern suburbs have raised concerns about a man they claim has repeatedly harassed them in broad daylight and on social media.
In a Facebook group on Thursday, a member claiming to be a local woman recounted an alleged experience with the man on Tuesday afternoon where she said she had been “absolutely harassed”.
The anonymous user said she was walking along Bondi Rd towards the Woolworths when a man tried to strike up a conversation with her, despite the fact she was wearing headphones.
She claimed the man repeatedly complimented her on her tracksuit from popular brand White Fox.
“(He) kept referring to my tracksuit (I was wearing a White Fox tracksuit), calling me a white fox and that I’m so foxy & telling me my partner was a lucky guy,” they said in the post.
“Just the sleazy tone and the exaggerated way he kept looking me up and down saying “white fox,” she wrote.
“He would not shut up.”
The Facebook user claimed she was able to ditch the man by entering the Woolworths, but felt so “uncomfortable” that she warned a group of women, who then responded with their own stories of a similar man.
“I wanted to warn them of this absolutely filth of a man & the overwhelming response of women saying they have enountered him as well and he’s also made them feel uncomfortable,” she wrote.
Some of the other women claimed he even tracked them down on social media, “and continued to harass them,” the Facebook user alleged.
She claimed another unnamed woman from inside the group had told the man about their concerns and that he had allegedly “started harassing” the women who have “come forward and told their story”.
The anonymous Facebook user issued a warning addressed to the man at the end of her post, declaring: “If we get one more report of this happening to one more female, we collectively will go to the police”.
“Consider this your warning - leave the women of Bondi alone.”
The Facebook user also shared several screenshots she claimed were of examples where the man had allegedly harassed other women including locations at Eastgardens, near Waverley Park and inside a Westfield shopping centre.
NSW Police were contacted but said they had not received any reports.
