MARLENE Sinclair has today faced her daughter’s killer in court and told him he was “pure evil”.

In a courageous victim impact statement read to the Supreme Court, Ms Sinclair said she has repeated thoughts about Carlie’s final moments and whether she was in fear before the father of their child murdered her in 2013.

Prosecutors have asked Justice Peter Barr to impose a non-parole period greater than the mandatory 20-year minimum.

Defence lawyers are expected to make their submissions to the court shortly.
