Renowned golf simulator X-Golf is set to open its newest venue, and first in the Territory, in mid-November month at the Gateway Shopping Centre.
Billed as Australia’s leading indoor golf and entertainment centre the popular simulated golf experience has 23 locations across the country and New Zealand.
Beyond the golf, which caters for players of all ages and abilities, there will be plenty of delicious food and drink on offer.
X-Golf chief executive Alex Makkereel said it was the vibe and atmosphere of his venture which set it apart from other simulators of its kind.
“We have a really inclusive atmosphere and we’re just an easy, no-barrier-to-entry golf for a lot of people,” Mr Makkereel said.
“It’s all about catching up with mates, having a bit of a hit at the simulators which range in difficulty, we’re a relaxed, fun, interactive space for people to be around golf.
“We’re so excited to be coming up to Darwin because the people here love golf and it’s a really great community which we have an opportunity to be a part of.
“It’s also great for the time-poor golfer, a lot of people who play in our leagues are people who work all day and can’t play golf so we offer the experience at night, so they can stay in touch with golf.”
Also arriving at the Gateway Extra venue is sibling brand, Hey Caddy, which is an indoor mini golf experience the whole family can enjoy.
“Mini golf is something for everybody, it’s a really exciting thing which we added last year so we can be a place everyone wants to come to,” Mr Makkereel said.
The venue is the latest entertainment option arriving at the shopping centre following V-Max and the Pavilions dining options.
“It’s important to keep reinventing ourselves and bringing new leisure or entertainment options for the entire community,” a Gateway spokeswoman said.
“Introductions of the Vmax cinemas when we opened, and then Pavilions and now X-Golf is just fantastic for the community and great for everybody.
“We just continue to try and improve and attract new, exciting brands particularly in this space.”
