A WOMAN has been taken to hospital with facial injuries after she was attacked by a pack of wild dogs in Karama on Wednesday.
St John Ambulance Territory duty manager Craig Garraway said the woman was set upon by four dogs while she was out walking her own dog at about 6am.
Mr Garraway said the woman was walking on Kalymnos Dr in Karama when she was attacked but only sustained minor injuries.
“We took her to hospital with some facial injuries but she was fine,” he said.
“(But) wild dogs is a bit of a worry, with a pack mentality.”
It is understood the dogs were registered but it is unclear whether their owner was present at the time.

A spokeswoman for the Darwin City Council said the woman’s dog was also injured in the incident and council staff were currently investigating.
“There were four dogs involved and initial investigations indicate that the dogs are registered and have no past history,” she said.
“Council rangers have been dispatched to investigate the incident and take statements, a fence inspection will also be conducted.”
The spokeswoman said the dogs’ owner would be “issued a notice under council by-laws”.
“Owners face significant fines and in some circumstances dogs will be seized and destroyed when a level one dog attack has been substantiated,” she said.
A police spokeswoman said a complaint was made but the attack was a matter for the council and not police.
