Woman, 56, dies after being found unconscious in Rapid Creek waterway

A woman has drowned after she was found unconscious in a Top End waterway, with police preparing a report into her death.

A woman who was found unconscious in a Top End waterway has died.

NT Police and St John Ambulance were called to Rapid Creek about 3pm Friday on reports a woman was found in the water.

She was not conscious at the time she was pulled from the body of water in Rapid Creek.

“The woman could not be resuscitated,” police said.

A report into the 56-year-old woman’s death will be prepared for the Coroner.
