THE allure of classic, elegant names got the best of Territorians with timeless titles topping the NT’s most popular list.
The NT Government’s most popular baby names list for 2019 revealed Oliver and Grace as the Territory’s favourite names, being used 15 and 20 times respectively in the year.
Bianca Klingner-Walsh struggled for months to find a name for her son, Oliver, 2.
“His dad and I couldn’t agree on one,” she said.
“Oliver was going to be born prematurely so we were rushing to pick a name … We sat on our phones for hours and that was the first boys’ name we saw where we both liked it.”
Ms Klingner-Walsh said it was the perfect name to suit her boisterous son.

“I always knew from the start that he suited his name,’ she said.
“He’s very cheeky and determined and stubborn at times, and very outgoing.
“It’s such an original name, it’s been around for years. It’s still such a classic name and I love it.”
Oliver and Grace booted 2018 favourites Jack and Charlotte, which topped the most popular list since 2015.
