Ormiston Pound Walk: Ormiston Gorge - Ormiston Creek section of the Pound Walk is flooded due to recent heavy rain. Be prepared to either swim through the water or return to the carpark back along the Pound Walk in a clockwise direction.

DARWIN REGION

Berry Springs Nature Park

The pools are closed for swimming. The reserve, picnic areas and walking track remain open.

The pools are expected to open for swimming in mid-May, however no date has been announced.

Butterfly Gorge Nature Park

Closed due to seasonal weather conditions.

It is anticipated to re-opening in May 2021, dependent on weather, however no date has been announced.

Casuarina Coastal Reserve

Walk from Rocklands Drive to Free Beach carpark - open

Walk from Royal Darwin Hospital to Free Beach - open

Sandy Creek Boardwalk - open

Mountain bike trails - Partially open. The World Cup trail at Lee Point remains closed. The Bren trail has a small section that is closed and signs are in place for this.

Channel Point Coastal Reserve

A permit is required to access the park. Contact Parks and Wildlife Permits branch to arrange permits and key to access the reserve.

Charles Darwin National Park

Mountain bike trails are open. The park closes at 7pm daily

Djukbinj National Park

The park is open.

Douglas River/Daly River Esplanade Conservation Area

Access via Douglas caravan park. 4WD recommended as only camps one to seven are 2WD. Camps eight to nine are 4WD only. Bookings to camp can be made at Douglas Daly Tourist Park: 08 8978 2479.

Douglas Hot Springs Park

Popular swimming spot Tjuwaliyn (Douglas) Hot Springs Park, which has been closed for almost two years, will not be reopening this dry season.

Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve

Vehicle access across the dam wall is open but it is closed to pedestrians due to potential presence of crocodiles and flooding.

Access to the carpark and walking tracks remains open

Garig Gunak Barlu National Park

The national park, and the Coburg Marine Park, are both open.

George Brown Botanic Gardens

Open throughout the long weekend.

Harrison Dam Conservation Area

Open through to Woods Lane entry only. The dam wall track is closed due to seasonal weather conditions. It was expected to reopen in April but hasn’t opened yet.

Holmes Jungle Nature Park

All roads are open except for the Bottom Road which was anticipated to reopen in May, dependent on weather conditions. No date has been announced yet.

Howard Springs Hunting Reserve

Open throughout the long weekend.

Howard Springs Nature Park

Everything is open throughout Howard Springs Nature Park except the Springs walking track.

Knuckey Lagoons Conservation Reserve

Open throughout the long weekend.

Leaning Tree Lagoon Nature Park

Open throughout the long weekend.

Litchfield National Park

All roads into the national park are open.

Buley Rockhole - open for swimming.

Florence Falls - swimming, walks and campgrounds are open.

Mataranka Thermal Pool (via Homestead Road) - swimming is open but the riverside walks to and from Stevie’s Hole are closed.

Stevie’s Hole (via Thermal Pool) - walking tracks are closed

Botanic Walk (via John Hauser Drive) - both the loop and riverside walks are closed

4 Mile (via John Hauser Drive) - The day use are and boatramp are open but be CrocWise. The Riverside walk to 4 Mile is closed.

Wabalarr (via John Hauser Drive) - Closed due to seasonal weather conditions.

Mulurark (via John Hauser Drive) - Closed due to seasonal weather conditions.

Jalmurark (via John Hauser Drive)/12 Mile - The campground is closed as there is no clean or potable water for toilets and showers due to water source pumped from river which is currently flooded. The boatramp is open but be CrocWise.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is open every day of the year. The park closes at night, and all visitors must leave the park by closing time.
