DARWIN’S skyline disappeared among the clouds on Saturday morning as the city woke to a blanket of thick fog, something more common to the bleak cold winter of a southern city.

However, unlike our winter bound cousins where temperatures are hovering around 15C, Darwin enjoyed a warm and sunny 32C during the day with zero chance of rain.

And to rub salt into the wound for our southern cousins the overnight for Sunday was a very comfortable 20C with Sunday to again hit somewhere around 32C. The Sunday forecast is for cloud clearing.

Once again there is the chance of more morning fog about the Cox Peninsula. Sunday looms as a great evening to hit your favourite coastal spot to enjoy a wonderful dry season sunset. The Bureau of Meteorology says we can expect light winds becoming northwest to north-easterly 15 to 20 km/h in the early afternoon then becoming light in the evening.

And if you are wondering what your return to work on Monday from the long weekend will be like, it will be sunny and 33C.
