VIRGIN Australia will reintroduce direct flights between Darwin and Adelaide from September, with economy tickets up for grabs from $119 until midnight this Friday or sold out.
Virgin will bring back the flight from September 6 ahead of the NT’s Term 3 school holidays.
The service will operate Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday every week in each direction.
One way economy fares are on sale from $119 til midnight on Friday or until all sold out.
Virgin Australia Group chief commercial officer Dave Emerson said the airline was thrilled to reintroduce the service and launch a new route.
“With open borders between South Australia and Tasmania and Northern Territory, we’re able to finally start direct flights between Adelaide-Darwin, as well as offer a new direct service between Adelaide-Launceston,” he said.
“I don’t know about others but for me, there’s no better way to clear the lockdown cobwebs than heading off to experience a new place or reconnect with old friends.
“More flying also means we’ll have more of our team members in the air and more business for the many hundreds of tourism operators and hospitality venues who rely on the economic injection tourists provide their communities.
“With the September school holiday period fast approaching, we know our great value and fully flexible airfares will help families who are able to travel, to experience all of the wonderful things to see and do in and around Adelaide, Launceston and Darwin.”
