Two teenagers have been arrested and charged after allegedly committing a number of property offences this week.

TWO teenagers have been arrested and charged after allegedly committing a number of property offences across Alice Springs this week.

Members of Strike Force Viper have arrested a two males, 17 and 15, in relation to a number of property offences across the Araluen and Gillen areas.

It is alleged the pair broke into a home on Clarke Street where they stole alcohol, cigarettes and a wallet on Tuesday afternoon.

Investigations identified the 17-year-old for three separate incidents of property offences committed in the Gillen area earlier this week.

He is expected to be charged with one count of unlawful entry – stealing, two counts of trespassing, one attempt to commit a crime and a breach of suspended sentence.

The 15-year-old was charged with one count of unlawful entry.

Strike Force Viper Detective A/Senior Sergeant Evan Kelly said CCTV footage from two of the offences assisted in identifying the offender.

“CCTV footage provides a great deal of detail which helps police in identifying and ultimately apprehending offenders however we urge the public to report matters to police even if they post images on social media,” he said.
