GRAMMY and Emmy award-winning singer Toni Childs will host an empowering and spiritual music and yoga experience this weekend.

The Because You’re Beautiful yoga session at Sanderson Middle School combines improvisational dance, silent meditation, storytelling and live singing.

The experience, which Childs has hosted across the world, focuses on growth through self-love, appreciation and personal advocation.

Childs hoped the session would help participants to love and appreciate themselves.

“I want people to understand how much they matter,” she said.

“That they truly are a beautiful essence of life force that’s embodied inside of the skin and that they are to be valued.

“This allows me to get close, for us to get connected like real friends … I love singing and looking into people’s eyes, I love it and my heart has this explosion.”

Childs is in the Territory visiting remote communities, in particular the Binjari outside of Katherine.

The Because You’re Beautiful yoga session runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Tickets can be purchased at tonichildsdarwin.eventbrite.com.au or at the door on Sunday.
