A ONE-YEAR-OLD child has been rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital in serious condition after a near-drowning at a backyard pool in the Darwin rural area.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said a 16-month-old child nearly drowned in a backyard pool in the Darwin River area at about 5pm on Sunday.
The child was flown to RDH in a serious condition by CareFlight.
A Top End Health spokesman said the child was in a critical condition.
