THOUSANDS of tickets to next Saturday’s AFL Dreamtime match between Essendon and Richmond sold out within a few minutes today.
Tickets to next Saturday’s game were all snapped up by AFL fans within 15 minutes from when they went on sale to general public at 1pm today.
A total of 1379 tickets were sold by in the first five minutes alone, representing 25 per cent of the venue’s total capacity (5,461 patrons) as advised under TIO Stadium’s COVID Event Plan.
An AFLNT spokesman took to social media to confirm tickets to the Dreamtime in Darwin match had been sold out.
“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity (because of COVID), and as expected the demand was extremely high, but unfortunately we’ve reached our capacity (reduced due to COVID-19) for the Dreamtime in Darwin game at TIO Stadium next Saturday,” he said.
“We will be sure to advise you all if other opportunities come up; so stay tuned to our social pages and website.
