Three ‘persons of interest’ sought over break-in in Alice Springs which ended in pursuit

Police have recovered a stolen vehicle after a pursuit overnight, one of two notable break-ins across Central Australia.

POLICE were forced to conduct a pursuit after a stolen vehicle after a break in at a home in an Alice Springs, and are now hunting three ‘persons of interest’.

It was one of two break and enters reported to police in Alice Springs on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Alleged thieves made off with a silver Ford Territory, motorcycle equipment, cash and jewellery after a break-in at Shanahan Cl, Mount Johns, before 3am.

Police spotted the vehicle doing circles around town shortly after, and pursued the vehicle.

The vehicle was recovered, however police are still wishing to speak with three ‘persons of interest’.

Police are investigating and awaiting further forensics.

There was also a break in at the Lutheran Church in The Gap in the early hours of Sunday morning, with a laptop and vehicle keys stolen.

Police are awaiting further forensics in relation to the case.
