BEER thieves assaulted a man in Woodroffe overnight after he tried to stop them from raiding his mini fridge.

NT Duty Superintendent Andrew Barram said at 1.50am this morning a resident living at Woodroffe Ave woke up to discover three offenders stealing alcohol from his outdoor beer fridge.

“When he confronted them and attempted to chase them off, the men threw a stick and a beer bottle at him and made off with most of the alcohol,” he said.

“Police subsequently located and arrested one of those offenders in the area.”

He said the woman had been smoking on the top of Anzac Hill at 1am this morning when she was approached by a group of youths.

“They asked her for cigarettes but when she refused they pushed her to the ground and stole some of her items,” he said.

“Luckily she didn’t receive too many injuries, there was some grazing from being pushed to the ground.”

Police are yet to locate the suspects and investigations are continuing.
