A MASSIVE group of 20 large crocodiles has been captured feasting on a cow.

Stranger Tides fishing channel host Grant Meleisea and his guest fisho Trevor Tierney headed out barramundi fishing in the Ord River, East Kimberley last Friday when they spotted two cows bogged in mud on the bank of the river.

“The cows had obviously headed out to the river for a drink of water and got themselves bogged in the mud,” Mr Meleisea said.

“We took the boat over to them to investigate where they were half submerged in the water and were attempting to get out, however would sink further into the mud and become exhausted.

“We sighted several crocs in the vicinity and knew the cows were helpless and an easy lunch. “We immediately came up with a plan and got into action.

“Due to the cows being located in a very boggy area we had to take the boat about 200 metres down the creek to some solid ground.

“From there we dry anchored the boat to shore and ran down the bank towards the cows whilst keeping a good eye out for crocodiles.”

Mr Meleisea said after they reached the cows, two of them were able to get out of the mud with their help after struggling for some time.

“We got back in the boat, had a rest and headed down the river another 500 metres where we sighted approximately 20 large crocodiles surrounding a dead cow which obviously wasn’t as lucky as the other two,” he said.

“The cow’s head was missing with blood flowing into the water.

“I flew my drone over to record the event where I captured a very large black crocodile with the cow’s tail in its mouth in attempt to swim away with it.

“The crocodile was the biggest of the pack with the other crocodiles keeping their distance. “All the crocodiles were over four metres long with the big black one being five metres plus. “After filming the group for five minutes we departed the area.”
