TERRITORY schools have begun administering the Covid-19 vaccine to eligible students, making it easier for families to get the jab.
The NT Department of Health’s vaccine team will be visiting schools across the Territory during September and October.
On Monday Essington School year 12 students Tyler Engels and Mikey Coleman were eager to receive their jabs. “With us being vaccinated hopefully we’ll be able to attend school if we go into lockdown,” Mikey said. “Also, for any students wanting to go to university next year down south, being vaccinated will hopefully allow them to travel back and forth.”
Health Minister Natasha Fyles said it was critical to get as many Territorians vaccinated as possible.
“Families are busy, there is always lots going on, we’re making it as easy for families as possible,” Ms Fyles said.
“The vaccine is safe, free and effective.”
