THE Palmerston RSL have found a new home at the Palmerston Golf and Country Club.
The RSL was forced form their home of 12 years last week when the Palmerston Sports Club closed down without notice.
Palmerston RSL Sub-Branch president Bill Simpkins said they had worked hard to secure a new home for the club.
“We’re very pleased that we are now able to move forward,” he said.
The club has, for the past week been operating their advocacy and welfare work from their homes.
Cazalys and the Palmerston Golf & Country Club have offered the RSL access to the unused lawn bowl demountable.
The RSL, will run its administration, advocacy and welfare functions from the property.
He said members had expressed a desire for the RSL to remain in Palmerston, and the support
offered by Cazalys general manager Matthew Hewer allowed this to happen.

He said the club was also seeking a donation of a new demountable building.
Cazalys board chairman Stuart Totham said it was disappointing to hear of the
closure of The Hub.
“We are pleased that we have been able to accommodate Palmerston RSL and provide
them with a home, a place to go so they can continue the great work they do with our
retired servicemen,” he said.
