GARDENS Oval’s brighter lights trial will help NT Cricket fixture senior mens, senior women's and junior cricket schedules in what is set to be one of the biggest years for the sport in the NT.
NT Cricket chief executive Joel Morrison said night cricket at Gardens Oval would have a significant social and economic impact on the local community.
“We appreciate the support of elected members and look forward to working with City of Darwin on the trial,” he said.
“The lights at Gardens Oval provide a great opportunity to activate the CBD and deliver flexible fixturing to the cricket community.

“We’re very excited about what promises to be a big dry season of cricket.”
The trial will see lights brighten the oval to an adequate and safe level for the sport on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 6pm to 9pm, from April to June.
