For fishmongers like Mr Barra owner Niall Atkinson, the Easter fish frenzy is rivalled only by Christmas.

“It’s the busiest time apart form Christmas, Thursday and Friday will be the 3rd and 4th busiest day of the year,” he said.

“Fresh fish fillets are the most traditional things for people to get.”

Mr Atkinson said it gave locals another great opportunity to support the local seafood industry. “It’s very important to come out and support fresh local seafood.”

“The whole of March has been crazy to be honest, it’s been really good to see.”
