Taminmin College went into lockdown twice last week, with parents and police notified of a threat of violence at the school.
A member of the school community who spoke with the NT News alleged two people armed with weapons entered the school grounds on two separate days “looking for someone they wanted to fight”.
The Education Department confirmed the Humpty Doo high school “initiated two short lockdowns” as per “normal school safety protocols”, and no one was harmed in the incidents.
“All staff and students remained safe,” a department spokeswoman said.
“Violence in any form in our schools is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
“The safety of our students and staff is our top priority and we work closely with all our schools to provide a safe learning and work environment.”
She said the school and police were notified on both occasions “as per normal procedures”.
No action has been taken by police.
