CORRECTIONS officers will have their pay docked if they take part in approved industrial action, the NT News can reveal.
It’s understood the officers’ union United Voice was notified of the plan to dock wages in an email this morning.
“You are invited to meet 4pm this afternoon to discuss the partial work bans you have notified us of, and the process by which we will advise employees of deductions that will be made from wages for those who participate,” the email from Office of the Commissioner for Public Employment principal consultant Damien Doherty said.

The officers are currently in negotiations around their enterprise bargaining agreement and were approved to take industrial action by FairWork early this month.
Last week they notified the employer that officers would not escort professional visitors through the prisons on Mondays and Wednesdays between 9am and 5pm.
The Attorney-General’s department has been contacted for comment.
