Rock climber flown to Royal Darwin Hospital after falling 8m in Hayes Creek

A 40-year-old man has been airlifted to RDH after falling 8m while rock climbing in Hayes Creek.

A 40-year-old man has survived an eight metre fall while rock climbing in Hayes Creek over the weekend.

The man was transported to Pine Creek health centre with several fractures before being helicoptered to Royal Darwin Hospital.

St John NT Operations Manager Craig Garraway described the incident as a “lucky result”.

Hayes Creek, located 170km southeast of Darwin, is a popular spot for rock climbers across the region.
