THE Richardson Park Grandstand has been reduced to rubble after major demolitions saw the skeleton of the facility torn down on Friday.
Demolition efforts began almost a month ago, with the old grandstand, toilet block, kiosk, gatehouse and clubhouse all flattened.
The $689,941 demolition works were undertaken by NT Excavation and Demolition Darwin, with the final stages of the demolition process to be completed by the target date of May 2021.

Infrastructure Minister Eva Lawler said an upgraded facility would be built preserving the sporting significance of the site, the former home of NT rugby league.
“This $7.1 million job creating project includes an upgrade of the playing field, landscaping of the site and a new access road which will also benefit Ludmilla Primary School,” she said.
“The tender for these works will be released later this year.”
A memorial for Warren “Shadow” Mount has been preserved during demolitions and will be reinstated in the new facility.
