A RESILIENT croc has been spotted looking a little worse for wear in the mud plains of Kakadu, with an expert saying he has likely suffered months of malnourishment.

Fisho David Lucas said when he saw the croc at Nourlangie Creek in the South Alligator region he was barely moving and incredibly thin.

Mr Lucas said it looked like the 4m beast had suffered serious sunburn across its entire back.

Crocodylus Park owner and Zoologist, Professor Grahame Webb, said the croc looks seriously thin, injured and near death.

Prof Webb said the croc “may have been a victim of an attack by another croc”.

“It’s possible these injuries occurred months ago, as it takes a long time for them to lose weight,” Prof Webb said.
