ONE commercial building and two residences were broken into over the weekend in Alice Springs.
NT Police Senior Sergeant Alan Milner said the first break-in occurred on Adamson Ave in Gillen between 9pm on Friday and 7am on Saturday.
“The point of entry was a toilet window,” S/Sgt Milner said.
“Assorted property was stolen including a blue Toyota Yaris, police are currently awaiting forensic results.
“The Yaris was later recovered at Aneura Pl in Sadadeen early Sunday morning.”
S/Sgt Milner said the second residential break-in occurred on Diarama Cl in Araluen between 10pm on Friday and 6.53am on Saturday morning.
“The point of entry was a bathroom window and stolen was a blue Honda Jazz and a dark grey Holden commodore,” he said.
“Both of those vehicles were later recovered, the Jazz was recovered at about 7.15pm on Saturday opposite Flynn’s Grave in a damaged condition.”
S/Sgt Milner said police are awaiting forensic results in relation to the stolen blue jazz.
“The grey Holden Commodore was recovered Saturday morning abandoned on Ghan Rd in Ciccone, again we’re waiting on forensic results,” he said.
S/Sgt Milner said the third break and entry was the Purple House Renal facility on Flynn Dr in Gillen between the hours of 2.15am and 4.30am on Saturday.
“The point of entry was damage to an external wall and then damage to an internal wall to get inside the location,” he said.
“They actually smashed a hole in the fibro wall to get into the internal part of the premises, they would have had a tool to smash the hole.
“They located a wall safe which they’ve taken out into the front yard and tried to get into the safe but they decided to leave it behind – the safe is damaged but still secure.”
