A PRISONER has died after an incident at the Darwin Correctional Centre.
Police and St John Ambulance paramedics were called to the Darwin Correctional Precinct at 1.45pm on Friday after a 32-year-old man was found injured.
It’s understood the man was driving a buggy at speed when the buggy hit a rock and rolled.
Prisoners nearest to the man tried to revive him before officers took over but they were unsuccessful.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the prison to attend to a worksite accident.
The spokeswoman said paramedics began resuscitation but the man died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
