A NT Police spokeswoman said they were unable to confirm details about the death on Saturday because they still had not been able to get in contact with the person’s next of kin.

“I can confirm an incident has occurred at Edith Falls, however, no details will be released at this stage,” she said.

A spokesman from CareFlight said they were called out to the incident but were stood down before leaving the hangar.

This is not the first time a tragedy has struck at the popular NT swimming hole.
