His other half, Amy Yu-Vatskalis is a lecturer in Chinese studies and co-ordinator of the Chinese in-country study program. As the Northern Territory Government and Darwin council tries to build relations into China and South East Asia, Ms Yu-Vatskalis could be an important link in connecting Darwin residents with our neighbours to the north.

She and husband David Ryan, who is also a high ranking public servant, should be higher up the list, but her pull is slipping as people in high places increasingly question her performance as the public debt continues to mount.
