HEALTH officials and police have told people to book before heading to the Covid-19 testing clinic at Marrara today to avoid waiting in long lines for many hours.

People seeking tests were waiting for many hours to be seen yesterday with traffic backing up along McMillans Rd.

NT Health Minister Natasha Fyles said this morning there were already 1700 tests booked at the Marrara testing clinic for today.

This morning people began waiting at the Marrara drive-through clinic from as early as 6am.

People are urged to book online to avoid having to wait excessively long times in queues.

It comes after police and St John Paramedics were called to a minor three car crash involving drivers lined up at the clinic.

No one was injured in the incident.
