EMERGENCY services in the Top End were kept busy in the past 24 hours with a motorbike crash, a pedestrian strike and a snake bite.
St John NT operations manager Craig Garraway said they were called to a bizarre job on Thursday when a pedestrian was struck by a car on an oval at Moil.
“I believe this happened on the oval at low speed,” he told ABC Darwin.
“The pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries and spent overnight recovering.”
A man sustained serious leg injuries when he crashed his motorbike at Florence falls.
Mr Garraway said he was treated by the Pine Creek Clinic and was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital where he is currently recovering and will likely undergo surgery.
Meanwhile a 53-year-old man is recovering in Katherine Hospital from a snake bite.
While the species of snake is unknown, it follows three other snake bites in the Top End over the past three weeks.
