TWO pedestrians were hit by a car in the Darwin rural area overnight with the driver — who police allege was known to the pair — expected to face court.
Northern Watch Commander Mick Fields said the two pedestrians, aged 17 and 23, were struck by a car on Tuesday night on Goy Road, Girraween.
The 17-year-old was treated on the scene and the 23-year-old was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 17-year-old driver was taken into custody and is expected to face court at a later date. The driver and the pedestrians were known to each other, police said.
Cdr Fields said there were a number of traffic accidents in the Top End on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning due to the wet weather.
There were no major injuries in any of the crashes.
