Woman killed, another in hospital after crash along Stuart Highway

A woman has died in a tragic single vehicle crash on the Stuart Highway, and another person has been taken to hospital.

A WOMAN has died in a tragic single vehicle crash on the Stuart Highway near Tennant Creek at the weekend.

The woman is from a well-known family in the region but cannot be named for cultural reasons.

The crash happened 13km north of Tennant Creek.

The crash was reported at 9am on Sunday.

One person was found dead and another was taken to Tennant Creek Hospital.
