A JETSTAR flight headed to the Northern Territory has had to make an emergency landing in Mildura after it was feared there was a fire on board.

A Jetstar spokesman said a flight from Sydney to Uluru had been diverted to Mildura as a precaution after an indicator light in the cockpit showed there was an issue in the cargo hold.

“The aircraft landed normally,” the spokesman said.

“We thank customers for their patience as our teams work to get them on their way as quickly as possible.

Eight emergency vehicles responded to the emergency landing.

The Airbus A320 flight, JQ660, departed Sydney at 10.25am (AEDT) and landed in Mildura before 12.30pm.
