FEBRUARY 20: Police said they received reports at about 9.30pm that an SUV carrying two males had collided with a road train in East Arnhem Land.

“Emergency services attended the scene and the two occupants of the SUV were conveyed to the local clinic in a serious condition,” a police statement said.

“One man has since been transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital, while the other has been transferred to Gove District Hospital.”

Police said the driver of the road train returned a negative roadside breath test.

The incident came just hours after reports appeared of a multiple fatality in Howard Springs, in which four-people were killed.
