A second person has been charged following a violent incident in Central Australia where a woman was allegedly burned with boiling water and children left with minor injuries.

A SECOND person has been charged following a violent incident in Alice Springs earlier in the week where a female was allegedly burned with boiling water.

An 18-year-old woman, who allegedly entered a property on Bath St unlawfully, assaulted occupants of the property, police say.

Police claim during the incident a female at the property had boiling water thrown on her while a number of children also suffered minor injuries.

The teenager was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, intending to cause serious harm, aggravated unlawful entry and property damage.

She appeared in the Alice Springs Local Court on Thursday.

Detective Superintendent Kirsten Engels said it was an isolated incident and there was no ongoing risk to the public.

“Northern Territory Police investigators will not stop in the pursuit of holding people accountable for senseless acts of violence,” she said.

Suspected bikie arrested over alleged tyre slashing

UPDATE, THURS: A SUSPECTED Mongols bikie member has been arrested by police after he allegedly slashed the tyres of a ute in Stuart Park.

NT Police confirmed a 41-year-old man was arrested in relation to property damage in Stuart Park on January 25.

Police released CCTV footage of the alleged incident, which appeared to show the man circling a white Volkswagen Amarok while repeatedly stabbing all four tyres.

The man, who was wearing a Mongols bikie gang T-shirt, flicked the double rude finger to the cameras before allegedly violently elbowing the rear car mirror.

Police arrested the man on Wednesday and he was charged with criminal damage, possessing a trafficable quantity schedule 1 dangerous drug in public place, possessing less than trafficable quantity schedule 2 dangerous drug in public place, possessing or receiving property used in the commission of an offence, possess prohibited weapon and two counts of possessing a controlled weapon and possess fireworks outside of approved period.

Police will allege they seized a large quantity of cash, a copy of the Mongols constitution and a knife.

The 41-year-old was remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Court at 10am on Thursday.

INITIAL, WED: POLICE are searching for a man in a bikie T-shirt who allegedly slashed the tyres of a ute in Stuart Park.

NT Police have released CCTV footage of the incident on Coronation St around 6.30pm on January 25.

The footage showed the alleged male offender driving a Toyota Prado as he pulled up next to a white Volkswagen Amarok.

As he stepped out of the vehicle the CCTV footage showed he was wearing a Mongols bikie gang T-shirt.

The alleged offender circled the car and appeared to repeatedly stab all four tyres, before flicking the watching security cameras the double rude finger.

Criminal damage 25 January 2022

NT Police are seeking information or witnesses in relation to a criminal damage incident in Stuart Park last month. Around 6.30pm on 25 January, a man driving a grey Toyota Prado pulled up next to a white Volkswagen Amarok parked on Coronation Street. The offender, who was wearing a Mongols bikie gang T-shirt, proceeded to slash the tyres of the VW, and gestured toward a CCTV camera before breaking the vehicle’s rear vision mirror. He then got back into his car and drove off. “A number of vehicles were driving in the area at the time and police are interested in speaking with anyone who saw the incident or who has further information that may assist the case,” said Detective A/Sergeant Jon Spencer. Before driving off the man appeared to violently elbow the rear mirror, knocking it down.

Detective acting Sergeant Jon Spencer said police were calling for any information or witnesses to come forward in relation to the criminal damage incident.

“A number of vehicles were driving in the area at the time and police are interested in speaking with anyone who saw the incident or who has further information that may assist the case,” Sgt. Spencer said.

He called for witnesses to call 131 444, and quote the reference 9912415.

Two youths arrested in relation to an unlawful entry

Police have arrested two youths in relation to an unlawful entry in Darwin on the weekend.

In the early hours of February 12 a commercial business on Links Rd in Marrara was unlawfully entered and a number of items were later found to be stolen.

Strike Force Trident detectives arrested two men both aged 15 on Tuesday.

One has been charged with unlawful entry into a building, damage to property, stealing and breach of bail and was remanded to appear in court on Wednesday.

The second man was charged with unlawful entry into a building, damage to property and stealing.

He was bailed to appear in court on March 11.

15-year-old arrested in relation to assault and robbery in Alice Springs

NT Police have arrested a 15-year-old in relation to an assault and robbery that took place in Alice Springs this week.

At 7.30pm on Monday police received reports that a 15-year-old man had allegedly assaulted and robbed a female victim while she was running along a popular track near Nelson and Blaine Streets in Araluen.

The youth allegedly ran towards another female, causing her to run from the area.

Police were notified and arrested the alleged offender a short time later.

The youth remains in custody and was set to appear in the Alice Springs Youth Court on Tuesday.

Detective Superintendent Kirsten Engels called the behaviour reprehensible.

“This behaviour is reprehensible and has absolutely no place within our community,” Ms Engels said.

“Our community has an expectation that they can go about their business without being subjected to such offending.

“I would like to thank the members of the public who informed police, allowing us to respond quickly and apprehend the alleged offender who remains in custody.”

Man allegedly punched on street

A MAN was allegedly punched after being approached by a group in Alice Springs.

NT Police say about 11.50pm on Saturday, the victim was walking with friends on Gregory Tce when a group of Aboriginal men approached.

A member of the group allegedly punched the victim once to the face, causing a severe injury.

Detective Constable First Class Vanessa Heffernan said investigations were ongoing.

“Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen the assault, or who was in the area with dashcam at that time, to make contact on 131444 and quote reference 9925155,” she said.

Child hit by car

“EVERY parent’s worst nightmare” was how a senior paramedic described the scene after a five-year-old was hit by a car.

St John Ambulance NT operations manager Craig Garraway told the ABC the five-year-old was hit by a car on the road at Farrar at 5pm, Sunday.

“They were bleeding from their face and nose,” Mr Garraway said.

“It was terrifying for everyone involved, including the person driving, and obviously bystanders and families.”

Paramedics treated the child, and the five-year-old was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Rum Jungle Lake diver taken to hospital

A SWIMMER who found himself out of his depth was flown to hospital after a diving incident gone wrong.

St John Ambulance NT operations manager Craig Garraway told the ABC crews were called to Rum Jungle Lake, 105km south of Darwin, at 12.30pm, Saturday.

Mr Garraway said a 45-year-old man dived into the former mine, now Batchelor recreational swimming spot, and suffered “decompression-type symptoms”.

“He may have actually come up a bit too fast,” Mr Garraway said.

Mr Garraway said the Batchelor clinic responded, and Care Flight flew him to Darwin Royal Hospital.

He said the man was recovering in hospital following the incident.
