NT Ombudsman Peter Shoyer admits ‘increasing number of complaints’ about FOI applications
NT Estimates: The Territory Ombudsman has admitted an “increasing number of complaints with an increasing number of applications” with regard to Freedom of Information applications.

The document, which related to the Northern Territory’s goal of 50 per cent renewable energy generation, was given to journalists with 116 of its 118 pages entirely redacted.
Ombudsman Shoyer said the matter was for agencies, and his office would review decisions if a complaint was escalated.
“We have received a total of 35 new complaints, as I said, this year,” he said.
The Ombudsman admitted a trend of there being a “increasing number of complaints with an increasing number of applications”.
