It came after NT Health booked out the entire hotel, purportedly to house workers at the Howard Springs.

“Quest have made the business decision to cancel their bookings, I don’t think that was the right call,” Mr Gunner told Mix 104.9’s Katie Woolf.

“We made the assumption those rooms were available,” he said.

“I’m sorry that’s happened to them.”

Mr Gunner said it was regrettable that many tourists hoping to stay in the NT were left without a place to stay, with many other hotels also fully booked during a bumper dry season.

“We don’t want them having a bad experience,” he said.
