Nationally the AMGC has invested $66.9 million into manufacturing and created 2300 jobs in the process, by co-funding industry projects to help them compete globally.
Chief Minister Michael Gunner said the new funding would “turn ideas into reality”.
“We know in the making of things, you will find good jobs, local jobs and often high paying jobs,” Mr Gunner said.
(The AMGC) will be the people who put the government together with industry through a grant program,” he said.
“Everything from small projects to large.”
AMGC managing director Dr Lens Goennemann said the Territory government’s investment was the first time the federal government initiative had been localised.
“Adding value on shore to commodities, which is called manufacturing, is something where we can extract more value and turn the Lucky Country into a smart country,” Dr Goennemann said.
